Admission
The admission test in DRMC is considered one of the most difficult admission tests in the country at high school level and college level. Every year, it takes students at class 3, 9 and 11. The brightest students of the country selected through a difficult admission test including physical test.
Area, facilities & education
DRMC is somewhat like Cadet College. The school has a big area of 60 acre. It is a boarding school. It has 5 big hostels with a very congenial atmosphere. The junior wing halls are "Joynul Abedin Hall" and "Qudrat-E-Khuda Hall". Each hall has the capability of taking 150 students. The senior wing halls are "Kazi Nazrul Islam hall", "Sher-e-Bangla Hall" and "Lalan Shah Hall". Each hall has has the capability of housing 120 students. The main attraction of the school is its open fields and the greenery. It has 8 full size football fields which is very rare in the congested Dhaka city. The compound also incorporates 8 teacher's quarters, a modern Mosque , a swimming pool, 5 basketball courts, several volleyball courts, hockey field, a big laundry shop, a modern auditorium, and an official building where the Principal and other staff. The standard of education at DRMC very high. It has some modern laboratories for performing experiments, a big and rich library. The classes are taken in the "School Building" and the "College Building". From class 3 to class 8, classes are called junior wing, and from class 9 to class 12, classes are called senior wing. It has 2 big 4 storied academic building. The teachers of this school are highly qualified,very friendly and supportive. The school organizes extra-curricular activities every week for all classes which goes a long way to nourish the personality and individuality of the students. It makes a student a perfect all rounder. DRMC is contributing a lot to produce necessary talents for Bangladesh.
Remians
Remians are the graduates of Dhaka Residential Model College. The old students of DRMC is call Remian. It is very prestigious. The remians have an organization named ORWA which means Old Remians Welfare Association. The Remians played a big role in Bangladesh. Many senior government official of Bangladesh is Remian including Sheikh Kamal, son of Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, Shamsher Mubin Chowdhury, former Foreign Secretary etc.
