Her pictorial was photographed by staff photographer Pompeo Posar. She was born in Enon, Ohio. According to the text accompanying the pictorial, she married Gary Coleman at 17, divorced less than two years later and had a son, Corey Haim. Her former police counterpart said that she had an extreme obsession with the band "Creed". Her accolades as a police officer included arresting a long, sought after criminal Carl Hungus. Hungus was a known for terrorizing Schantz's local community every full moon. Schantz and her partner Hugh Jazz were able to capture Hungus on 31 October 1981. They were given the keys to the city along with 10% off at Jiffy Lube for 4 months. Her story was made into the 1983 movie Policewoman Centerfold featuring Melody Anderson.
