I give myself the authority to remove bogus warning templates from my page Bakaman Bakatalk 04:19, 14 August 2006 (UTC)

Hi Baka, I am a new user of Wiki and may not know all the specifics but I placed my commnents on your revert of the Ayodhya debate in the discussion page. Please try to answer me. --Khammam 05:42, 25 January 2007 (UTC)

Could you please provide reasons for why you reverted my edition to the page Jamaat-e-Islami? Thank you. Aslamt 18:04, 18 January 2007 (UTC)

PROD

As a reminder, any editor can remove an article from the PROD process by removing the tag. Unless they totally blanked the page or nominated for CSD at the same time, it is not appropriate to reinstate the PROD tag, as you did here. Once the prod tag is removed, PROD is not available as an avenue for deletion. If you believe that article should be deleted, AFD it. See Misplaced Pages:Proposed deletion#Conflicts, the first bullet point. GRBerry 18:35, 18 January 2007 (UTC)

Caste issues

Hi there! I wonder if you could give more information about the "caste consensus" issue you keep bringing up with Zora on Talk:Shilpa Shetty? I'm more interested in the how and why such references are not allowed according to WP:BLP (according to her) when there are caste-references and clan-references all over the place in Misplaced Pages (Rani Mukherjee for example. I'm not sure what the consensus is so I would appreciate your quick rundown of what the issues are about.

For the record, I also object to Zora's continued removal of vodka sponsorship information. There is nothing about "advertising" in WP and the articles of other stars contain information about their endorsements. I hope it will be OK for you to keep an eye on the article, even though it is now under semi-protection. Many thanks, Ekantik 05:35, 19 January 2007 (UTC)

Back + more

Hi Baka, I'm back from my vacation, and wanted to give some update to you which may interest you. In BD, I organized several wiki meetups and conducted expeditions to take photographs of ancient structures. I went to visit the Dhakeshwari Temple, and took a lot of photos of the Siva Mandir's on the temple premises, and the main temple along with the goddess statues. The temple looks really awesome face to face!!

Even better, I got hold of a book by the Historian Muntasir Mamun, Prof. of Dhaka University, who is considered to be the greatest historian on the history of Dhaka. His book contains very interesting details about Dhakeshwari, along with old photos (<1947, and hence in PD). I'll start adding the photos and text/refs once I get over my jet lag!

Next, I got hold of some rare photos of the Ramna Kali Mandir (destroyed by Pak Army in 1971, and since not reconstructed). I also tracked down a journalist who took some splendid photos of the Kantaji Temple, and I convinced him to upload the pics to WP.

I did took a lot of photos of Mughal era forts, mosques, and other ruins. Too bad I ran out of time!!

Ok, I'll keep you updated on the photo uploads. Thanks. --Ragib 07:45, 19 January 2007 (UTC)

Anton Balasingham

Hi,

The above personality did a lot for a lasting solution in the island though he suffered from diabetes, Motor Neurone Disease, a degenerative disease of the nervous system, and possibly medicine-induced bile duct cancer.

Now putting his Bio "Terrorist Tag", I feel unreasonable and removing it, please take necessary action on this.

I have discussed my points at Talk:Anton Balasingham.Rajsingam 09:31, 19 January 2007 (UTC)

WikiProject India Newsletter: Volume II, Issue 1 - January 2007

Project News
  • Project tagging:After a brief edit war over the addition of {{WP India}} to ancient archaeological sites now located in Pakistan, a "pre" parameter was introduced to remove the ROI flag from the template for pre-1947 articles, following discussion. After another large discussion on ANI alleging that the automated tagging by Ganeshbot and LostBot was "nationalistic", Ganeshbot was briefly blocked. Currently, the bots are again in action.
  • Swastika on Hinduism templates:Recently, an extremely large and at times emotional debate broke out regarding the use of the swastika on Hinduism templates, given its association with Nazism. As a result, {{Hindu Links}} now contains an educational message about the use of the swastika, as discussion on a more permanent resolution continues.

    RE: Your recent message

I am not religious and am not well versed in legends and religious stories. In regards to "encyclopedic format covering all aspects" I was hoping that this may prove to be a good page for you to make better. Right now many of the Hinduism editors support Aryan818, but it has also been brought to our attention that the Shiva page is a mess. You're killing two birds with one stone there.Bakasuprman 01:39, 18 January 2007 (UTC)

    DYK

Hi, I created a new article on Rudrapatna, a small village in Karnataka, which has a rich musical history and has produced numerous Carnatic musicians. Can you look at the article and see if any info is worth a DYK nom. Thanks, Naveen 16:25, 22 January 2007 (UTC)

    Partition of India, migration figure

Bakaman, I have never seen that 7 million figure before. The real figure is 3.5 million and I provided half a dozen sources for this, which you simply deleted and reverted the changes. Note, most sources are Indian. Please explain yourself. You can revert the edit yourself, or I am putting this forward to an Admin to review.

Also please see User_talk:Nadirali#Your_lucky_day, User_talk:Unre4L#Your_lucky_day, User_talk:Arjun01/Archive17#Gizza.27s_username (This one is an interesting discussion). In short, I'm no longer going to touch on any controversial article for the next 9 months because of my final year of high school. It causes too much stress. I'm only on Misplaced Pages for enjoyment until my secondary schooling is over. I was inspired by Bhadaniji. Best wishes for your Wiki-life and real life. Gizza 21:55, 22 January 2007 (UTC)
