ArbCom 2021 Elections voter message

Hello! Voting in the 2021 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23:59 (UTC) on Monday, 6 December 2021. All eligible users are allowed to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.

The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Misplaced Pages arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

If you wish to participate in the 2021 election, please review the candidates and submit your choices on the voting page. If you no longer wish to receive these messages, you may add {{NoACEMM}} to your user talk page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 00:16, 23 November 2021 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of Dobrná

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

Hello, and welcome to Misplaced Pages. This is a notice to inform you that a tag has been placed on Dobrná requesting that it be speedily deleted from Misplaced Pages. This has been done under section A3 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is an article with no content whatsoever, or whose contents consist only of external links, a "See also" section, book references, category tags, template tags, interwiki links, images, a rephrasing of the title, a question that should have been asked at the help or reference desks, or an attempt to contact the subject of the article. Please see Misplaced Pages:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Misplaced Pages's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. Francis Bourgeois (trainspotter)

Hey, thanks for making an effort to tell me what you felt was wrong with the article

I'm not exactly a fan of him, nor did I intend to make a fan POV; in fact, when I write articles, I try my best to be neutral and word it as reliable sources might say it. I figured that the lasting media coverage over the past several months (e.g. the article about him in The Sunday Times, the few paragraphs about him in Rolling Stone, a full article about him in The Face) was enough to write an article on and to prove notability. I'd love to hear more about why you think otherwise, so I can improve in the future. wizzito | say hello! 14:34, 3 December 2021 (UTC)

I'm sorry, I never did get back to you on your "Request for Insight". I did have a quick look and couldn't help but wonder why anyone would bother to write it - in Britain "trainspotting" is regarded as the epitome of needy nerd-ishness. BUT I didn't get back to you as I'm a natural deletion-ist, who thinks we would be better off with half as many articles, twice as frequently brought up to date/fixed/fleshed out, so I was probably the worst person on earth to ask. I rarely go to AfD and often get things wrong when I do. Pincrete (talk) 16:48, 6 February 2022 (UTC)
