Laksmi Shari De-Neefe Suardana (Template:Lang-ban; Template:Lang-sa; born 29 January 1996), professionallysimply known as Laksmi De-Neefe Suardana, is an Indonesian fashion designer, UNICEF activist, book authormodel, TV commercial model and a beauty pageant titleholder, who was crowned Puteri Indonesia 2022 (Miss Universe Indonesia 2022),. Laksmi is the first delegaterepresentative from Bali and the first Hindu women to ever be crowned Puteri Indonesia. She will represent Indonesia at the 71st Miss Universe 2022 competition.
Early life and education
Laksmi was born in Ubud, Bali - Indonesia located amongst rice paddies and ravines in the central foothills of the Gianyar regency on 29 January 1996, the third child of four siblings, the third child of four siblings to a native Balinese father Ketut Suardana and Australian mother Janet De-Neefe who hail from Melbourne, Victoria - Australia. Laksmi is also the grand daughter of Australian business tycoon John De-Neefe. Laksmi and her family was one of the witness to the 2002 Bali bombings in Kuta, Badung Regency engendered by the Various members of Jemaah Islamiyah and al-Qaeda, despite being within the pedestrian area, they became a victim of the bombings but luckily survived the explosion. Since 2019 she takes part as an activist and contributor for UNICEF Voices of Youth.
Laksmi finished her college where she earned her Diploma of Arts in Monash College from 2012 to 2013. Laksmi received her dual degree program of Bachelor of Design Honours in Fashion Design from RMIT University in Melbourne, Victoria - Australia from 2014 to 2016, and Bachelor of Business Marketing in Fashion Business from Polimoda in Florence, Tuscany - Italy from 2016 to 2018, graduated with cum laude.
Career
Since teenager, together with her parents Ketut Suardana and Janet De-Neefe; Laksmi dedicated herself to helping Bali after the 2002 Bali bombings and is now continuing to dedicate herself to the future of Bali through her now world renowned Ubud Writers & Readers Festival, to try and rekindle international interest through a particular literature and poetry event, senior citizen yoga, cultural market and more of a reputation for art, culture, tourism and nature, she and her family managed to grow it from its very small beginnings to something which has gotten great recognition worldwide. The festival is usually held in October each year, organised by the Yayasan Mudra Swari Saraswati foundation. It is known as the biggest festival of words and ideas in Southeast Asia, in which many celebrated writers, artists, thinkers and performers participate, and in 2019 was named as one of the top five literary festivals in the world, by The Telegraph in the UK.

Puteri Bali 2022
At the age of 26, Laksmi started her foray into the world of pageantry by joined the contest at the provincial level of the Puteri Indonesia Bali, and ended up was chosen as the winner of Puteri Indonesia Bali 2022, where she also won "Miss Intelligence" special award. After qualifying the provincial title of Puteri Indonesia Bali 2022, Laksmi represented the province of Bali in the upcoming national beauty contest, Puteri Indonesia 2022, which was held on May 27, 2022.

Main article: Puteri Indonesia 2022On 27 May 2022, After qualifying the provincial title of Puteri Indonesia Bali 2020, Laksmi was successfully selected as the winner of Miss Universe Indonesia, and also won the special award for "2nd Runner-up in Catwalk Challenge". The final coronation night was graced by the reigning Miss Universe 2021, Harnaaz Sandhu of India as the main guest star. During her finale night speech for Puteri Indonesia 2020, Laksmi successfully raised the upcoming seventeenth Indonesian govermental meeting programmee 2022 G20 Bali summit, and on her finale Top 3 question round, she was asked by Indonesian Presidential Advisory Council Putri Kuswisnuwardhani; "Is there an experience in your life that you regret and aim to change? please show your real vision..." Laksmi said:
"I don't have any bad experience in my life that I regret however bad it is. I believe that the Universe has already made plans for me, and it has helped me grow into a stronger, wiser and human being. That's why I can stand here in front of you tonight because of all the experience that has taught me, rebrand me to be a new person with courage and bravery, and I know I can conquer anything. At the end of the finale pageant, Laksmi was crowned Puteri Indonesia 2022 at the Jakarta Convention Center by outgoing title-holder Puteri Indonesia 2020 and Top 21 of Miss Universe 2020, Raden Roro Ayu Maulida Putri of East Java. Laksmi is the first delegate from Bali to ever be crowned Puteri Indonesia 2022 (Miss Universe Indonesia 2022).

Together with her older sister Dewi De-Neefe, Laksmi was started her foray in acting career as an extras Cameo appearance in the film of Elizabeth Gilbert's book Eat Pray Love, where took shot in De-Neefe's family resto called Indus in Ubud - Bali.
