Your submission at Articles for creation: Caitlin McCarthy (December 15)
Your recent article submission to Articles for Creation has been reviewed. Unfortunately, it has not been accepted at this time. The reason left by Jamiebuba was: This submission's references do not show that the subject qualifies for a Misplaced Pages article—that is, they do not show significant coverage (not just passing mentions) about the subject in published, reliable, secondary sources that are independent of the subject (see the guidelines on the notability of people). Before any resubmission, additional references meeting these criteria should be added (see technical help and learn about mistakes to avoid when addressing this issue). If no additional references exist, the subject is not suitable for Misplaced Pages. Please check the submission for any additional comments left by the reviewer. You are encouraged to edit the submission to address the issues raised and resubmit after they have been resolved.- If you would like to continue working on the submission, go to Draft:Caitlin McCarthy and click on the "Edit" tab at the top of the window.
- If you do not edit your draft in the next 6 months, it will be considered abandoned and may be deleted.
- If you need any assistance, or have experienced any untoward behavior associated with this submission, you can ask for help at the Articles for creation help desk, on the reviewer's talk page or use Misplaced Pages's real-time chat help from experienced editors.
- Just went through the draft and added citations from specific media outlets that are independent of the subject. I appreciate the guidance on what to include. WistahHoney508 (talk) 18:29, 15 December 2024 (UTC)

- Thank you for sharing this. I don't know this person. She has received extensive coverage in the New England media (where I live). My apologies if my draft didn't meet standards. I am learning how to do Wiki and learning from mistakes -- I appreciate all help! WistahHoney508 (talk) 13:05, 15 December 2024 (UTC)

Your submission at Articles for creation: Caitlin McCarthy (December 16)
Your recent article submission to Articles for Creation has been reviewed. Unfortunately, it has not been accepted at this time. The reason left by Drmies was: This submission's references do not show that the subject qualifies for a Misplaced Pages article—that is, they do not show significant coverage (not just passing mentions) about the subject in published, reliable, secondary sources that are independent of the subject (see the guidelines on the notability of people). Before any resubmission, additional references meeting these criteria should be added (see technical help and learn about mistakes to avoid when addressing this issue). If no additional references exist, the subject is not suitable for Misplaced Pages. The comment the reviewer left was: I see a lot of primary sources and a ton of inline URLs, but what I don't see is coverage from secondary sources, except for a few apparently local or regional reports.

- Hello, I linked to the BBC Radio 4 audio doc "Poison in the Womb" which analyzed information from primary sources, such as interviews -- it didn't provide firsthand data or direct evidence but instead interpreted and presented information based on primary sources. Also, the Sunday Post's coverage of the DES apology would be considered a secondary source. The newspaper is reporting on and analyzing an event (the DES apology) rather than offering firsthand documentation or original data about the apology itself.
- Kindly review these international secondary sources which show McCarthy is a notable DES activist who helped achieve the world's first government apology for the DES drug disaster that affected millions around the world.
- Thank you! WistahHoney508 (talk) 01:19, 16 December 2024 (UTC)
- I forgot to include that in large part to McCarthy's testimony about DES, Sturgeon issued a historic apology for DES, the first ever by a government. This makes McCarthy notable as she's been invited back by the Scottish Parliament for a meeting about next steps and covered by the BBC Radio 4 and The Sunday Post: "The person has made a widely recognized contribution that is part of the enduring historical record in a specific field." Thank you! I'm learning as I go with Wiki and this is all helpful. WistahHoney508 (talk) 01:37, 16 December 2024 (UTC)
