On 16 January 2025 at about 1 p-m., a stabbing took place at Gymnasium on Štúrová street in Spišská Stará Ves, Slovakia. A 18-year-old student identified as Samuel S. stabbed with a knife and killed a 52-years old female assistant school principal and a fellow student. Several others were injured, one critically. The culprit was arrested shortly after stabbing.
Perpetrator
Samuel S., a student, who was 18 at the time of the attack was identified as the perpetrator. He fled the scene but was arrested about an hour after stabbing.
Afterneath
The interior minister Matúš Šutaj Eštok and education minister Tomáš Drucker immediately traveled to Spiššská Nová Ves to offer condolences and support to the local authorities.
