  • If you are pissed off at something I've done, assume good faith. Most likely, whatever I did was with the best of intentions. Should you decide to pitch a fit on my talk page, prepare to get spanked... and not in the good way. Also note that I endorse WP:DGAF.
  • If you leave a message here, I'll probably reply here. If I left a message on your talk page and you replied there but I didn't, I probably forgot to check back. I suck at adding talk pages to my watchlist. If that's the case, just drop a line here to remind me. I'll try to work on that.
  • If you're coming here to request I review your Good Article Candidate, turn around and go back out the same door you came in unless I owe you a favor or it's of a topic you're for sure will be of interest to me (i.e. anything listed on my user page or high-profile topics). Otherwise, add it to the list and hope.

The Simpsons

I have resonded to your GA review of the article. -- Scorpion 13:21, 1 August 2007 (UTC)

The article is now an FAC, so if you would be interested in leaving some comments, or assisting in improving the article, it would be much appreciated. Thanks, Scorpion 00:03, 2 August 2007 (UTC)

Image:TorrePoster.PNG

for the image TorrePoster.PNG, you said that no rationale was listed. it's explained in the copyright box. "to provide critical commentary on the film, event, etc. in question or of the poster itself, not solely for illustration" Mghabmw 00:31, 2 August 2007 (UTC)

That's not an adequate fair use rationale. See WP:FURG. Lara♥Love 04:50, 2 August 2007 (UTC)

Wikidudemans RFA withdrawn

Hey, I've decided to regretfully withdrawal my RFA. Based on the numbers I don't believe it would have ever been successful. It seemed to have gotten off to a bad start and then went down hill from there. It's very unfortunate that it turned out the way it did however I do appreciate your participation. Thanks. Wikidudeman 00:46, 2 August 2007 (UTC)

Sorry, man. Maybe next time! Lara♥Love 04:47, 2 August 2007 (UTC)

Re: The Simpsons

I noticed you placed the GAReview tag on The Simpsons, and placed it on hold. It looks like you forgot to change that to the GAOnHold tag when you did so, so I changed it at WP:GAC.

Also, you might be interested that the article was just nominated for featured article status today, even before achieving GA status. Dr. Cash 02:05, 2 August 2007 (UTC)

Whoops! Nevermind! I see you've added it to the WP:GA page. Though you did forget to remove it from the candidates' page. Dr. Cash 02:10, 2 August 2007 (UTC)
Oh, thanks for that! I seriously have to stop overlooking steps. They say that once you do something 10 times it becomes habit. Not true. Lara♥Love 04:46, 2 August 2007 (UTC)

I second that! You are wonderful, this is awesome! – Dreadstar 06:37, 4 August 2007 (UTC)

Thanks. I was impressed by all involved. The first edit brought the issue to my attention, I made note of it, you fixed it, another inquired so as to address it. Good times. That's how Misplaced Pages should run. Lara♥Love 06:40, 4 August 2007 (UTC)

Adminship

Your comments at WT:RFA

I am highly offended at your insinuation that new users who seek adminship are immature and power-hungry. I applied in October 2006 when I was a fairly new user, because I had never seen the process before and had no idea what the standards were. My RfA failed, and quite rightly so - I had fewer than 500 edits and did not have enough experience to be a decent admin. But it still hurt. I don't believe I was being "immature and power-hungry", or anything of the sort. And the comment I don't really care how they feel, is, with all due respect, demonstrative of a very bad attitude. Even leaving aside simple human decency, would it be a good thing if lots of new users were driven away after a premature RfA? No. We always need to recruit new contributors, and being helpful and considerate to them is the only way to do that. If I had been driven away after my first RfA, I would not have stayed on Misplaced Pages, would not have made thousands of edits and created several new articles, and would not have passed my second RfA (in April this year). Lots of other admins have gone through the same process. Walton 17:26, 4 August 2007 (UTC)

I've responded with an apology on that page. Admittedly, I don't get it, but I did not mean to offend anyone and I do apologize to you for that. Lara♥Love 17:35, 4 August 2007 (UTC)
That's OK. I also apologise, for accusing you of having a bad attitude (I probably read too much into your post, and I appreciate you didn't mean to offend anyone). I'd explain further, but I have to log off now, and I'm on wikibreak from tomorrow until 14 August - I'll discuss this further at another time. Walton 17:40, 4 August 2007 (UTC)
I've replied in full at WT:RFA. Walton 18:31, 4 August 2007 (UTC)

GA Categories

Hi Lara - quick question for you. Which cat do TV programmes (specifically game-shows) come under; Arts or Misc? Cheers! EyeSerene 22:13, 4 August 2007 (UTC)

For WP:GA it would be under Social Sciences > Media > Television and Radio shows and series.
For WP:GAC it would be under Art > Television.
Soon, all categories will be consistent throughout the project. But for now, it's all jacked. Lara♥Love 03:26, 5 August 2007 (UTC)
It's for the GA pass tempate. Thanks! EyeSerene 13:45, 6 August 2007 (UTC)

Re:GA

I confess that I did not look too carefully at Midrash. I tagged it as "GA" because it had been previously tagged that way. Perhaps the original tagging was done in error. --Eliyak T·C 07:24, 5 August 2007 (UTC)

Project work?

Someone suggested that you might be interested in this. Misplaced Pages:WikiProject Classroom coordination could use volunteers. It's the right time of year for this - heading into fall semester. The project works with educators who incorporate Misplaced Pages editing into their classroom writing assignments - a really powerful opportunity to improve the encyclopedia if it works out. Durova 20:10, 5 August 2007 (UTC)

Hey, thanks. I actually signed up to help a teacher about a week ago, but I'm not sure if she's signed up on that or not. She contacted me on my talk page and asked that I help. I'll look over it though. Regards, Lara♥Love 04:13, 6 August 2007 (UTC)

Good job!

Way to go on leaving the Great Satan! They enslaved me for about two years as a cashier...ugh. I can barely even stand looking at the store, nevermind even entering one now. Jmlk17 05:26, 6 August 2007 (UTC)

Thanks. It took me almost going bankrupt to do it, but I finally got out! I question that decision on occasion, but I think I'm in a better place now... sometimes. Ugh. Haha. Lara♥Love 05:28, 6 August 2007 (UTC)
When that happens, just be thankful you don't have some crazy jerk of a CSM yelling at you about the most ridiculous of things (such as not speaking Spanish in my case). Jmlk17 05:36, 6 August 2007 (UTC)
Mine always got upset about me refusing to leave Electronics (secure department) with a lone associate so I could run a front-end register because *gasp* they did not have enough cashiers and the lines were backed up dairy! Lara♥Love 05:38, 6 August 2007 (UTC)
Haha oh man. I just wondered how I stuck it out for two years sometimes. I mean, within a week of quiting, I already had a job that paid me 3 bucks more an hour, was 10 times less stressful, and gave me a real discount (not just 10% off on non-discounted non-food items). Jmlk17 05:42, 6 August 2007 (UTC)
I stayed for four years. I was working two jobs for about a month and a half. I got the job I have now and worked there on my days of from Wal-Mart. Seven-days a week of working for weeks straight is bad times, although I did take one week of vacation from WM right in the middle and only worked four days that week at Golden Corral, so it was only 23 straight days. Then a couple more weeks before I went to five days a week at GC.
I make more money and I eat for $3.50, but it's so much more difficult. I thought WM was stressful, but servers do EVERYTHING in the front of the house at GC and customers don't realize it, so they don't tip well. Tonight, for example, I was on at noon, worked until 8:30 p.m. before I was given a break to eat (I took a 5-minute breather about 7:15 to avoid having a melt-down... that was the extent of my breaks, which is typical). I got stiffed no less than 15 times today, which is between 1/2 and 1/3 of all my tables. It's non-stop and very difficult. Physically and emotionally. Some customers you just want to cuss out and smack around, but you have to grit your teeth, bite your tongue and smile. I really want to go back to school and get a real job! Lara♥Love 05:52, 6 August 2007 (UTC)
That's the wrong reason to go back to school. Try again, and this time change "and get a real job!" to "because I'm passionate about learning!" Or maybe just suck it up and learn to deal, because, clearly, you weren't intended for great sucesses in life. Hey, maybe you can get yourself knocked up and snare a rich guy. Then you wouldn't have to work so hard, or go back to school. Just start sluting it up a little bit. 65.30.186.233 08:08, 6 August 2007 (UTC)
