Biff Rose is an American singer/songwriter/comedian.
Paul 'Biff' Rose first came to some level of renown through his work as a comedian in the early sixties. By 1966 he had landed in Hollywood, working primarily as a comedy sketch writer for television variety shows. Eventually, Rose took up with the songwriting he had developed during his youth growing up in {New Orleans}. A song co-written with {Paul Williams}, Fill Your Heart, was recorded as a b side and an album track, for {Tiny Tim}, and {David Bowie}, respectively.
In the meantime, Rose began writing his own lyrics and marrying them to the carnival-esque sounds he produced on the piano. Much of Rose's music tended towards his comedic side, with which he often prodded the political climate of the time. He appeared on Johnny Carson's "Tonight Show" frequently throughout 1968-70.
{Bill Cosby}'s {Tetragrammaton} label released Rose's ,"The Thorn In Mrs. Rose's Side" in 1968 followed by "Children of Light" in 1969. Rose also recorded albumsfor {United Artists}, {Pacific Arts}, and the {Buddha} label.
Rose released the Bone Again cd in 1996, and continues to record.
