October Revolution: Please don't delete previous text of articles without discussion. Please don't replace it by text based on a single source. Please don't replace old article by text from a heavily biased source. Please use only sources of known and reputable origin. Please see rules about reliable sources in wikipedia.
Lenin's Hanging Order: please use sources from historans, not from Lenin. Misplaced Pages is not vehicle for communist propaganda. `'Míkka>t 00:11, 30 April 2008 (UTC)
- Regarding October Revolution, much of the existing text on the version you support relies upon a questionable source such as Sparknotes that is of dubious quality. Regarding claims about a "heavily biased source", Russian language sources regardless of their period have been used by all non-Russian historians to write about Russia. The definitive English-language account of the Russian civil war by W.H. Chamberlain relies exclusively upon Russian-language sources.
- Regarding Lenin's Hanging Order, Lenin's "Collected Works" have been used extensively by all historians on the subject of revolutionary Russia. The version of the article you favor already quotes Lenin from a questionable source. It would only be fair to quote Lenin from the 45 volumes of his work that have been extensively utilized by historians. You cannot say that editors are only allowed to pick certain portions of Lenin's writings. --Drabj (talk) 00:19, 30 April 2008 (UTC)

Please do not delete this information before going to the talk page. It is referenced and sourced and is of noteworthy value to the article. If a mass slaughter of a peoples is not a massacre what is it? Moreover, how can you say it "smacks of anti-Shona speak". Adolf Hitler and Idi Amin tell of their persecutions and massacre without "smacking" anti-German or anti-Ghanaian speak. May I refer you to the following page: Misplaced Pages:What Misplaced Pages is not#Misplaced Pages is not censored. Mangwanani (talk) 17:49, 30 April 2008 (UTC)
- Please refrain from the politicization of such a complex conflict such as the disturbances in the Matabeleland. To speak of imaginary massacres carried out by the democratically elected Zimbabwe Government only serves to distort the destructive situation in the Matabeleland where Matabele supremacists would not tolerate any government noted headed by Joshua Nkomo. The sources that I have added emphasized that the Zimbabwe Government was responding to the terrorism of Nkomo's extremist followers. Most reliable accounts on the excesses of the 5th Brigade show that about 1000 suspected terrorists and saboteurs were killed. Drabj (talk) 19:12, 30 April 2008 (UTC)
