Todos Santos, California

  • Please refer to the 2nd sentence of the article Concord, California, "Originally founded in 1869 as the community of Todos Santos..." This redirect should remain per Lists of Places which have links to all named locations some of which exist with new names after a name change or have been absorbed into another community. Todos Santos appears at List of places in California (T) and all the items on the list should eventually be created or linked to an appropriate article. Todos Santos was the name of Concord briefly and should therefore not be a redlink to a non-notable article regarding the Todos Santos period of Concord it should simply redirect to Concord, California. I hope this compels you to unlist the RfD of this redirect. Thanks.W-i-k-i-l-o-v-e-r-1-7 (talk) 06:55, 18 March 2008 (UTC)

2007-08 NBA Season

I wanted to ask for clarification on your reversion of my edits to the Current Standings section of this article (]). My edits were made to make the article easier to read (notice how the right-hand side of the furthest right table is truncated in formatting). I appreciate your feedback. A tag has been placed on Long Beach Armada of Los Angeles of California of the United States of North America Including Barrow, Alaska, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Misplaced Pages. This has been done because the page appears to have no meaningful content or history, and the text is unsalvageably incoherent.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion. To do this, add {{hangon}} on the top of the page (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag) and leave a note on the page's talk page explaining your position. The main project page received a redesign that was blatantly was stolen from the Green Bay Packers Wikiproject. It is encouraged that all members keep both the main project page and the main project talk page on their watchlist to see any new information that may be posted there. The project currently has a total of twenty-two (22) members. It is suggested that you invite anyone who may be interesting in contributing in this project. When inviting someone please use {{WP CELTICS INVITE}}. If they do accept the invite, please welcome them with {{WPCELTICSwelcome}}. Our main goal for the project to bring Boston Celtics up to featured article status still stands. The article was chosen as March's collaboration and a good amount of effort was done improving the article by 8-Hype, Stormtracker94, and RC-0722. Your help is appreciated. Quick comment.

Thank you for trying to fix the spelling in 2008 Summer Olympics torch relay, but "cancelled" isn't an error. It's simply British English spelling. Just so you know for next time. :) Aridd (talk) 21:08, 12 April 2008 (UTC)

Oh sorry about that. I use spell check to check spelling and it often marks British spellings as errors. Usually I am aware of British spellings, but apparently I missed it when I was correcting spelling in 2008 Summer Olympics torch relay. —Chris! ct 00:52, 13 April 2008 (UTC)

Notable players

Hello Chrishomingtang, I removed the "notable players" section because there is already a whole new page created listing all Warriors players. Golden State Warriors all-time roster just makes the notable former players section redundant. Furthermore, there is no explanation in that section on how notable the listed players are.--Crzycheetah 01:38, 14 April 2008 (UTC)

Thanks for finally explaining your edit. But perhaps next time you should explain it in your editing summary. Just a friendly note. —Chris! ct 01:43, 14 April 2008 (UTC)

NBA playoffs

Alright, you're right. I won't disagree, keep up the good work.

Go easy

Please go easy on the tagging with the reference. Unless you have some real desire to add reference yourself, you are adding more work for other editors. Tagging that section in the Chinese civil war article might be excessive. Benjwong (talk) 02:24, 22 April 2008 (UTC)

NBA Playoffs Box

Hello Chrishomingtang! I noticed you were playing around and making some test edits to the template I created and proposed for use in the NBA playoffs articles. If there are any comments or changes you possible had in mind, or just some ideas about the visual representation of the template, please feel free to address them to me. I would appreciate it if you leave a small not on my talk page if you will be replying on your own talk page. Thanks. --Sukh17 08:09, 28 April 2008 (UTC)

Add all the fired coaches

Chris, Do you think its worth while when the season offically ends that a note should be made to the 2007-08 NBA season about all the coaches that have been fired of their duties. Or should we just place this at the appropriate teams page. There have been 5 so far, who knows there could be more. I dont know, is that a lot compared to other seasons? Thanks Roadrunnerz45 04:41, 2 May 2008 (UTC)

There are a number of notable coach changes this season including Pat Riley and Avery Johnson. Normally, I say we should place this at the appropriate teams page, but since some of them are notable, I think we should mention at least some notable one in 2007-08 NBA season. —Chris! ct 05:22, 2 May 2008 (UTC)

07-08 NBA season article

Hey...

I won't quit cause all your reasons are bogus as well. You go to the past to protect this event, but basically we are talking about what Riley has done during the 2007-08 season. Unless you guy don't give a good reason to keep this event, I won't stop arguing. Carlo ms06 (talk) 20:42, 4 May 2008 (UTC)

That's getting a bit POINTy, no? --Son (talk) 21:50, 4 May 2008 (UTC)

Normally, he is ok. But sometimes he can get quite stubborn and tries to go against consensus. Actually he was blocked once for violating 3rr. Hopefully, he will accept consensus and stop arguing against consensus. —Chris! ct 21:55, 4 May 2008 (UTC)

Magic Johnson has been chosen to be our very first Collaboration of the Month article. Although this is article is already a Good Article, it still can be improved. The goal is to improve this article by the end of May so that it can be nominated for Featured Article status. In particular, free-use images should be found for the article, all Manual of Style guidelines should be followed, and a neutral point of view should be maintained throughout the article. If there is anything you can do to improve the article, then please help out.

Hey

This probably doesn't belong on the tfd but I just wanted to say I have no ill will towards you or anyone else that disagrees with me. I just tend to not take well to people saying I am trying to scare people off and not assuming good faith when more often than not I am nicer than I should be. I was just making sure it was noted that what he was saying was made up, a user with that much time and edits should know better than to out and out make up a statement like that if they don't want to be called on it. Anyways cheers and good editing. -Djsasso (talk) 22:36, 14 May 2008 (UTC)

Possible TyrusThomas4lyf sockpuppet

I think you're probably right about Fact finder 1780 (talk · contribs · logs). I'll keep my eye on him. Thanks for the heads-up! — Myasuda (talk) 02:55, 15 May 2008 (UTC)

Chris, Fact finder 1780 (talk · contribs · logs) is spending most of his time on Kobe Bryant, which is not an article that I've monitored too closely in the past. If you can identify repeat edits from one of the TyrusThomas4lyf sock's edit histories, then you can link them at and then point a helpful admin to the WP:LTA area. They can probably take it from there. User talk:Daniel Case and User talk:Kafziel have been responsive in the past on TyrusThomas4lyf sock-abuse. User talk:Gwernol, who left a note at User talk:Fact finder 1780 might also be able to help. Based on some of the edit summaries, it looks like you might find repeat edits at and (for example ). Take a look and see. Good luck! — Myasuda (talk) 03:43, 17 May 2008 (UTC)
Thanks, Myasuda.—Chris! ct 17:02, 17 May 2008 (UTC)

User:Fact finder 1780

Just noticed the recent revert wart with this user and the sockpuppet tag you added. After viewing their contributions, it is very likely that this is a sock of TyrusThomas4lyf. So you should open a checkuser case. Otolemur crassicaudatus (talk) 06:37, 17 May 2008 (UTC)

Collaboration of the Month

Last month's Collaboration of the Month, Magic Johnson was a great success. A total of 560 edits were made to the article during the month of May, and the article was eventually nominated as a Featured Article Candidate. Although the article was not promoted, it was significantly improved through the work of many editors.

This month's Collaboration of the Month is Steve Nash. Although this is article is already a Good Article, it still can be improved. In particular, all prose should conform to Featured Article standards, all statements should be verified, and the text should be in a neutral point of view. If there is anything you can do to improve the article, then please help out.

Collaborator of the Month

The Collaborator of the Month is given to the editor with the most number of substantial, beneficial edits to the article chosen as the Collaboration of the Month.

This month's Collaborator of the Month award goes to Chensiyuan (talk · contribs). Although he had previously helped Magic Johnson to became a Good article, he made literally hundreds of edits during the month of May. For his contributions, he is rewarded with the NBA Collaborator of the Month Award.

Quick note...

Hiya. A quick note: please try to avoid using rollback in content disputes. Main reason being is that it encourages edit warring, as the edit summary is automated and nondescript, and can be grounds for getting the rollbacker flag yanked. :P I noticed that you believed a user was a sockpuppet, though, and although I blocked him for edit warring (since he's a repeat offender), instead of using instantaneous reverts, consider, instead, reporting to suspected sockpuppets or ANI. Thanks, and cheers. --slakr 00:59, 8 June 2008 (UTC)

Thanks for the heads up. I will be more careful using rollback next time. As for the sockpuppet case, I already talked to an admin about that. Thanks.—Chris! ct 01:04, 8 June 2008 (UTC)

Three Revert Rule

You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war. Note that the three-revert rule prohibits making more than three reversions on a single page within a 24 hour period. Additionally, users who perform a large number of reversions in content disputes may be blocked for edit warring, even if they do not technically violate the three-revert rule. If you continue, you may be blocked from editing. Please do not repeatedly revert edits, but use the talk page to work towards wording and content that gains a consensus among editors. If necessary, pursue dispute resolution. (Planecrash111 (talk) 01:07, 10 June 2008 (UTC))

I guess you made a mistake. I reverted a sockpuppet of banned user User:TyrusThomas4lyf. Noted that reverting banned user is an exception to the Misplaced Pages:Three-revert rule.—Chris! ct 01:39, 10 June 2008 (UTC)

You should have stopped editing even though there is an exception to it. I just don't want your talk page turning into warning template storage.(Planecrash111 (talk) 01:50, 10 June 2008 (UTC))

Ok you don't seem to understand that i just don't want members to believe that you are violating this policy and once again...i don't want your talk page to get too large. I don't want you to stop editing i meant to stop reverting his edits so an admin could deal with him. Happy Editing.(Planecrash111 (talk) 01:56, 10 June 2008 (UTC))

Ok good luck. I fixed a typo, so no biggie.(Planecrash111 (talk) 02:00, 10 June 2008 (UTC))

Image:NBA players 2006.PNG

Hi,

I see you restored Image:NBA players 2006.PNG to List of foreign NBA players. Unfortunately, there are a couple of problems with that image.

First, I'm not sure if it's meant to indicate current foreign players, or all-time foreign players. If it's the former, then the map is definitely out of date. And if it's the latter, there are still a few problems: the Bahamas and Luxembourg need to be colored in, and Israel needs to be decolored, since there still haven't been any Israeli players in the league.

So... I just wanted to explain why I had removed it. If you have any questions/comments, let me know. Zagalejo^^^ 04:17, 3 July 2008 (UTC)

I am not sure the answer to that question. All I did was coloring all the countries listed on the map. So, feel free to remove again if you think the image is incorrect. Cheers. —Chris! ct 04:23, 3 July 2008 (UTC)
Yeah, I think we should remove it for right now. Zagalejo^^^ 04:57, 3 July 2008 (UTC)

More revert questions

I note that you reverted a photo of judges on the Hong Kong page, but did so without any comment as to why. Please always, everytime, explain why you change someone else's work. Thanks. DOR (HK) (talk) 01:19, 7 July 2008 (UTC)

I thought I restore the photo. I guess I misread the diff when I looked at my watchlist. Anyway, thanks for letting me know the mistake I made.—Chris! ct 01:21, 7 July 2008 (UTC)

Your MINI (BMW) revert.

I noticed that you (quite correctly IMHO) reverted 172.130.226.194's addition to MINI (BMW) where (s)he claimed that various MINI's are nicknamed 'Zig', 'Zag' and 'Zog'. You might be interested to know where that came from - there is actually a tiny grain of truth in what the IP added. MINI currently have an advertising campaign where they are pushing those names...I only glanced at the advert in question - but those three names definitely stick in my memory.

Anyway - you were right to revert - I very much doubt that anyone outside of some crazed BMW marketting department actually uses those names!!

Thanks for dealing with it.

Infoboxes

Can I ask you to remove the heritage sites infoboxes from the articles? It seems to only add more clutter and is not very helpful overall in my opinion. I already adjusted the Protect Areas Project infoboxes to include the heritage site year of inclusion, by altering the protected areas infobox templates. I could see it for articles without the protected areas inforboxes, but otherwise, it seems be intrusive.--MONGO 02:47, 12 July 2008 (UTC)

I don't see the need to remove it. In my opinion, all the US national parks articles miss the world heritage site info. Unless the same info can be shown somewhere in the articles, I don't support the removal of the infoboxes.—Chris! ct 03:19, 12 July 2008 (UTC)
Is it that important? I added a date parameter to the Protect Areas infobox...what difference does it make to have the other data fields...they are just numbers it seems. The addition of the extra infobox for heritage sites in articles that already have the protected areas infobox seems to just be cluttering up the articles. I did ask for more imput on this issue and commented on the template and Protected Area WikiProject talkpagesw which is where this should be discussed.--MONGO 15:19, 13 July 2008 (UTC)
I respond on the Protected Area template talk page. Just so you know.—Chris! ct 17:52, 13 July 2008 (UTC)

NBA first overall draft picks

The anon. is correct. In 1984, Olajuwon was listed as "Akeem". See the Official NBA Encyclopedia, among other sources. Zagalejo^^^ 19:44, 14 July 2008 (UTC)

Ok. Would you please source it on the article?—Chris! ct 19:47, 14 July 2008 (UTC)
Yeah, I'll do it in a few hours. Zagalejo^^^ 19:53, 14 July 2008 (UTC)
I took care of it. So never mind.—Chris! ct 19:56, 14 July 2008 (UTC)
OK. I've added an explanation of why he changed his name. Zagalejo^^^ 00:15, 15 July 2008 (UTC)

I was wondering if you also want to co-nominating with me for the article, NBA Finals Most Valuable Player Award? Annoyomous24 20:55, 13 July 2008 (UTC)

To answer your question from my talk page: According to this article, it's determined by a "panel of media members". Zagalejo^^^ 04:12, 16 July 2008 (UTC)

I'll see what I can find. Zagalejo^^^ 20:07, 16 July 2008 (UTC)
Unfortunately, I'm not seeing anything that explictly says they changed the trophy. If I do find something, I'll let you know.
However, I did learn that, in at least one NBA Finals, fan balloting at NBA.com accounted for a tenth vote. See . Zagalejo^^^ 21:19, 16 July 2008 (UTC)

NBA defensive player of the year

Hey there — this is a house call from WP:NBA. :) Unfortunately, I found no single source that had the information in one place. However, I found one website that had the defensive players of the year and NBA championship winners for the same years on a different page. In comparing the two, I found that only 3 out of the last 14 NBA champions have had the defensive player of the year, but that's probably not notable enough for the list. If you need anything else feel free to drop a line on my talk page. Okiefromokla 15:48, 17 July 2008 (UTC)

Actually, that would be 3 out of the last 23 NBA Champs from '82-'83 to '04-'05... Let me know if I misunderstood the question at all. Okiefromokla 15:56, 17 July 2008 (UTC)

NBA Rookie of the Year Award

Should we just color the name instead of the whole row on the table of the Rookie of the Year Award? That is because Crzycheetah is getting confused that Geoff Petrie is a HOFer. Annoyomous24 21:17, 20 July 2008 (UTC)

I commented on the FLC.—Chris! ct 21:23, 20 July 2008 (UTC)
