When you create further windmill article stubs, would you please use the entire code from {{Infobox Windmill}}. All Dutch windmills have four sails, so you can add that with confidence. All standing Dutch windmills have an article on the Dutch wikipedia, Drenthe ones are linked from nl:Lijst van windmolens in Drenthe. Coords have been added to the Drenthe list. Here you have the trailer. Tell me what you think. I'm surprised Mira Nair directs an all-out mainstream Hollywood film. I'm impressed you remember I suggested you to watch Junoon. Have you heard of Jennifer Kendal? She is a British actress who got married to Shashi Kapoor. She was nominated for a BAFTA for an exceptional performance in an Indian film. And she was fantastic in Junoon. I started writing a draft of her lead. I thought it would be possible to make an FA about her because she acted in only 7 films. She was mostly a theatre actress. Yesterday I created the Silver Hugo Award for Best Actress BTW. Shahid • 12:42, 13 August 2009 (UTC)
I believe Swank is gonna get another Oscar. But no one really knows how it will be received so let's wait. As far as I know, they are known to be quite unfair by giving Oscars to those who did not get them already. They always give compensation awards at the expense of more desrving actors. As always Meryl Streep's talent is taken for granted. I think she was amazing in Doubt. But Kate Winslet was great in the Reader and she didn't get an Oscar in the past so they gave her a compensation award. She did deserve, but not more than the others. Kate Winslet - as always good, as always nude. Shahid • 13:02, 13 August 2009 (UTC)
Leaving Streep aside, among the young actresses - Cate Blanchett is the best. It's a shame she does not act in many films nowadays. She has the quality that very few actors have. And she is one of the few actresses whom I can watch in any film - no matter what - and still like her. Shahid • 13:16, 13 August 2009 (UTC)
Yes LOL!!! BTW, who's the best comic actress according to you? I have two names in mind - let's see if you guess them right! Shahid • 13:25, 13 August 2009 (UTC)
Well my take is - first of all Diane Keaton who is according to me the best comic actress, and Shirley Maclaine.
I knew you would be surprised but Hemaji was mostly acting in comic roles and in addition to being an accomplished dancer, she was also a fantastic action heroine (yes yes you read it right!!!). Her Basanti of Sholay is one of the funniest characters ever. She was the real relief of this film. And her comic performance in Seeta Aur Geeta is just superb (she played a dual role of two sisters - fantastic comedy of errors). See this scene when the police inspector mistakes her for her twin sister, and she makes a mess at the police station. You don't have to understand the language - you'll understand it anyway. It's such a hilarious scene. Shahid • 14:50, 13 August 2009 (UTC)
Off-topic to the rest of the section, tho the section title fits so... Just to let you know, your vpp thread has activity, if you're up for reading a large block of text. Cheers, Whitehorse116:45, 13 August 2009 (UTC)
Tandoori curry? Hey the photo is seemingly of her sister Seeta who the police inspector mistakes her for. I liked when she takes his cup of water just at the moment he wants to drink, and the entire mess she made in the station. This is such a funny film. I would recommend you to watch it but on youtube it is without subtitles unfortunately. Shahid • 18:06, 13 August 2009 (UTC)
Yes indeed very beautiful, but nowhere close to the music of KANK. Hey I think you are the most awarded editor on the wiki aren't you?? Liked the English lesson? Shahid • 12:15, 14 August 2009 (UTC)
Gordian knot
Is quickly scissorable. I have taken the flag and emblem parameters from the template. However I am removing the fields form the articles, and I have renamed the template too.. so I end up needing to do more: but it is a better neater result. RichFarmbrough, 19:06, 13 August 2009 (UTC).
Tell me about it. I have been bold and decided that Rahim Yar Khan is three words as the article said but the title didn't - now I am telling all the links. The district category was even forked. And then I found content fork at tribal articles.. sigh.. RichFarmbrough, 17:31, 14 August 2009 (UTC).
According to Misplaced Pages:WikiProject Pakistan/Cleanup listing "7054 articles are assigned to this project, of which 3280, or 46.5%, are flagged for cleanup." That is probably a little light. Of course whoo knows how many people look at that page? RichFarmbrough, 19:39, 14 August 2009 (UTC).
Tibetan Buddhism
Once again you have been working hard in the background to get the details right. The colours on the Template:Tibetan Buddhism are now, I believe, just right, and your many other recent edits tidying up articles are also much appreciated.
The Buddha Barnstar
I am very happy to award you this barnstar for your untiring efforts to expand and improve Misplaced Pages's coverage of Tibetan Buddhism. Thank you for your great service and constant encouragement. John Hill (talk) 23:18, 13 August 2009 (UTC)
Notability of geographic entries
Thank you for the link. I have spent some time reading it as well as the other essays it linked to and further. Could you indicate which PROD was brought to your attention. Your help would be very much appreciated in this matter. Regards -- Alexandr Dmitri (Александр Дмитрий) (talk) 01:29, 14 August 2009 (UTC)
Been off wiki for a few days, so just seen your message, I must confess you have done a good job with the Pakistan infobox :-) .... it had crossed my mind a couple of times whether or not the flags should be included in the infobox. Oh and I had noticed that you created the Iran templates and that they were being translated albeit haphazardly by several editors. ;-) Pahari Sahib10:04, 14 August 2009 (UTC)
I saw the mudslide article I created got redirected to Typhoon Morakot. Given that the mudslide in Hsiaolin appears to be notable by itself (since it resulted in over 100 deaths), I was wondering whether you did this because the current creation was just a stub or because you thought that it shouldn't be split off at all. DYK for Saint-Gilles-Croix-de-Vie
On August 14, 2009, Did you know? was updated with a fact from the article Saint-Gilles-Croix-de-Vie, which you created or substantially expanded. You are welcome to check how many hits your article got while on the front page (here's how) and add it to DYKSTATS if it got over 5,000. If you know of another interesting fact from a recently created article, then please suggest it on the Did you know? talk page.
If I have time, perhaps - I seem to recall some insect genera that I missed. Either that, or some of those New Caledonian politicians I've left for too long. Depends on what I can achieve this evening; I have a busy afternoon in store. Sorry you aren't feeling well...hope you feel better shortly.--Ser Amantio di NicolaoLo dicono a Signa.16:10, 16 August 2009 (UTC)
I have tried editting some of the articles. The problem is clan loyalties are a real issue in South Asia, and people like to exagerate the importance of their clans, and take offence, when you take out names of minor individuals, people take great offence.
Yes. I do indeed intend to revert to doing quick translations of commune entries from French-wiki from time to time, but currently my wiki time is otherwise engaged, and I need to progress that other project in order to be able to put my old motor magazines back into their boxes, and thereby recover access for myself and the rest of the family to the (rest of the) loft. (Also, I found that if I did too many commune translations in succession they became repetitive or even soporific: it's good to do one dept at a time, because that way one ends up knowing a bit more of the local history and geography which reduces the risk of silly mistakes. And yet....) Anyhow, for better and worse, it doesn't look as though we'll run out of items to translate on French communes (and communes from elsewhere in mainland Europe) any time soon. I'm SHOCKED!!! Thank you!!!!
You're right, I was sure you would forget!!!! It's such a wonderful surprise!!! THANK YOU so so so so much!!! Shahid • 11:08, 15 August 2009 (UTC)
Great work. Mumbai - one of my favourite cities. I have so many memories - my home, childhood. You have full right to oppose to something. You are one of the only editors who can oppose to an article and I'd be sure he has a very well justified reason. Shahid • 14:53, 15 August 2009 (UTC)
What about Metro Adlabs Theatre?? It's a spectacular cinema (and a very old one) designed by an American architect. Shahid • 15:03, 15 August 2009 (UTC)
Blof could you please state your opinion on the Hrithik Roshan talk page? To satisfy his ego, user:theredpenofdoom started an RfC about whether titles/headings for sections are appropriate. I don't understand why he did it on this particular page when so many FAs use this standard and this needs to be discussed elsewhere, but anyway. I told him and explained that such titles are very proper summaries for a section, but he had nothing to say so hee started an RfC. I need you to state your opinion. Shahid • 08:58, 16 August 2009 (UTC)
LOLZ it was a witty reply - "let it rest and do something contructive" Feel good and talk to me when you're back. Shahid • 10:25, 16 August 2009 (UTC)
Completely. What he is doing is complete wikilawyering. I ask you only to come back to the talk page and check what it is up to when you feel better. I think you express your opinions well and fairly enough. Shahid • 17:14, 16 August 2009 (UTC)
Thank you for kind words. I think it is because of the national tradition. Also in families from middle or upper class giving a child an opportunity to play some instrument was a good manner. - Darwinek (talk) 19:53, 16 August 2009 (UTC)
Ack
Sorry, that was me being stupid. Some people on one of the public IRC channels were joking about who would get 3M, and saying it would probably be you and that you should be blocked just to give someone else a chance, and I knew that wouldn't happen but...
Well, a) I'm not always intuitively aware of other people's time zones (especially in mid-August when it can get too hot for me to follow a premise through to its ultimate conclusion), and b) your account did create some +20 more articles in the time after you said you were done for the night. Please don't perceive this as criticism, mind you - I fully concede that what you're doing is for the good of the project as a whole (remember, you were the first to be put on JVbot's whitelist after I nagged Jayvdb into creating it, and I'm pretty sure you were one of the first to be ported from the whitelist into the autopatrol group). It's just that you may have done some minor, transient damage to some people's egos. DS (talk) 12:54, 17 August 2009 (UTC)
Request
Hello. I am MacedonianBoy, an admin on the Macedonian Misplaced Pages. I have noticed that you have got an OTRS permission for pictures such as the picture at this link. So, would you like to ask for the same thing, getting a permission, about the set of pictures about Macedonia at this link. I would like to thank you in advance since we, at the Macedonian Misplaced Pages, do not have free pictures about Macedonia. Regards, --MacedonianBoy (talk) 22:34, 16 August 2009 (UTC)
Which pictures to you want? Charles and Fred are gay and have a fetish with taking pictures of shirtless blokes, very few of those pics are actually encyclopedic!Dr. Blofeld08:54, 17 August 2009 (UTC)
Hi again. I have noticed that they have gay photos, we do not need them, but the pictures of the cities of Macedonia. These Kratovo pictures are cool, thanks a lot. Regards--MacedonianBoy (talk) 11:02, 17 August 2009 (UTC)
I didn't see any easy way of fixing it since there have been edits since then, so if you'd like to handle fixing it I'd appreciate it. Syrthiss (talk) 12:07, 17 August 2009 (UTC)
Hey, need your help. I see that you created this article based on the entry in the 1988 edition of Hutchinson Encyclopedia. Could you, please, let me know what exactly that entry says? As an inhabited locality, this place no longer exists (it's not in any of the Sakha's registries), but I am having hard time tracing anything to confirm its abolishment. I kind of suspect it may not have been an inhabited locality (but rather a mining post or something), but I can't confirm that either based on what I have. Any bit of info you could provide would be greatly appreciated.—Ëzhiki (Igels Hérissonovich Ïzhakoff-Amursky) • (yo?); 15:04, August 17, 2009 (UTC)
The google hits are mostly for the Bulkur River, which is most definitely at the coordinates you specified; and some other hits are ambiguous (i.e., it could be about a village, or a river, or a mining post, or whatever). "Река" also means "river". I'll keep looking, of course, but one thing that's 100% certain is that there is no populated place at these coordinates now. I would also speculate that if there ever was one, it was abolished in the 1980s, and it never was an urban-type settlement to start with (those are pretty well-documented; I would have found something by now). Mind if I move the article to Bulkur River and modify it accordingly? If something else comes up, we can re-start "Bulkur" no problem.
OK, I'll move the article to "Bulkur River" and will keep my eyes open for anything about a possible settlement that existed in that area. "Machevna" also seems to be a problem—no inhabited locality by this name exists in Kamchatka Krai any longer, but I'll need to check a few more sources to determine when it was abolished (and whether it was an inhabited locality to begin with). I'll keep you posted on that one. Thanks for your help! Cheers,—Ëzhiki (Igels Hérissonovich Ïzhakoff-Amursky) • (yo?); 15:50, August 17, 2009 (UTC)
Oh, I by no means disbelieve what you are saying. I'm just saying that we need more information, and that the place no longer exists as of today. By the way, I've just dug up something in my legislative collection—as of 2007, there were three designated (industrial) fishing areas on the left bank of the Bulkur River, but they are not incorporated as an inhabited locality and, by the looks of it, are seasonal. Perhaps there used to be a permanent settlement there, perhaps not—we need more data! I promise to keep looking :)
"Machevna" is also bound to show up in searches, because that's the name of the bay on which the alleged inhabited locality used to stand. I need to do more research on this one, though.—Ëzhiki (Igels Hérissonovich Ïzhakoff-Amursky) • (yo?); 16:02, August 17, 2009 (UTC)
Well, the encyclopedia you have is pretty outdated; it was not necessarily inaccurate at the time it was published. My sources on renamed/abolished/etc places reliably go back only to the early 1990s, the coverage of anything before that is pretty much haphazard. If a place was abolished in the 1980s, a reference can be quite hard to find. We need to be able to reconcile this in Misplaced Pages somehow; I just don't think presenting a place as existing based on an entry in the 1980s encyclopedia is a good practice; at least not when it is no longer listed in any modern sources.
On the other hand, why Machevna would be shown of the same size as Magadan, that beats me :) By the 1980s, Magadan was a sizable town already, not to mention the largest in that area.—Ëzhiki (Igels Hérissonovich Ïzhakoff-Amursky) • (yo?); 16:16, August 17, 2009 (UTC)
Kezhma and Nevanka are both villages, not urban-type settlements. Yukti is a red link—did you mean something else? Simenga I can't find at all. Research, research, research, cleanup, cleanup, cleanup :)—Ëzhiki (Igels Hérissonovich Ïzhakoff-Amursky) • (yo?); 16:42, August 17, 2009 (UTC)
Tank comment
Have you considered that this was in an Israel–Palestine context where civilians may well get run over by a tank in reality? I recommend removing this comment, since it's in really bad taste and the "kidding" addition does nothing to solve the problem. HansAdler18:35, 17 August 2009 (UTC)
