The Ming Dynasty (1368 CE - 1662 CE) of ancient China was an imperial dynasty of China, following the Yuan Dynasty (1271 CE - 1368 CE). In 1644 CE, the rebels under Li Zicheng took Beijing, ending Ming rule in the north. The Ming state continued to reign in southern China until 1662 CE. The first capital of the Ming Dynasty was Nanjing, and the second capital of the Ming Dynasty was Beijing.
