General Features
The trains are comparatively cheaper as compared to other express trains and reach to the destination within 5-6 hours only usually. They run on daily basis. Generally they complete the round trip in the day i.e return back to the origin station at night and use only a single rake.They generally have only sitting accommodation and a pantry car.
Exceptions
- Bhopal - Gwalior Intercity Express which runs only 5 days a week.
- Bangalore-Ernakulam Intercity Express which takes 11 hours to cover the 550KM strech between the 2 cities.This train uses 2 rakes between the stations and also has Sleeper Class and 3A coach
