Speedy deletion: Brodie Pasten

Hello Malik

Thanks for your note on my Talk page about why you decided not to delete Brodie Pasten. I wrote a nice little response, which you may not have seen yet. In brief, while the reason A7 for CSD may not have allowed you to delete it, I believe that it's clearly a hoax page, for reasons I've listed there.

After I got done with my quick list of reasons I'm convinced of the fakery behind the page, I suddenly realized that Hey! I'm not even the person who nominated it. The person you should be notifying is Sandcat01 (talk). If you peruse the revision history of Brodie Pasten, you'll see that I merely restored the Speedy Deletion template. It had been deleted by User:Brodie_Pasten, the creator of the "article"; I merely reverted that deletion.

I do still think a deletion is in order, probably under CSD:G3 as vandalism/hoax. Maybe I will nominate it as such, if Sandcat01 doesn't do it first. Regards, — JohnFromPinckney (talk) 22:50, 20 March 2010 (UTC)

Speedy deletion declined: FC Leopardos

Hello Excirial, and thanks for patrolling new pages! I am just letting you know that I declined the speedy deletion of FC Leopardos, a page you tagged for speedy deletion, because of the following concern: Not a test page. You may wish to review the Criteria for Speedy Deletion before tagging further pages. Thank you. — Malik Shabazz /Stalk 22:34, 20 March 2010 (UTC)

I have to admit i find the timing a rather amusing. At 23:34 this message was posted, and minutes later i see this: 23:37, 20 March 2010 Chase me ladies, I'm the Cavalry (talk | contribs) deleted "FC Leopardos" ‎ (G5: Creation by a banned user in violation of ban). i believe i tagged this article this morning - which is at least 12 hours ago for me - and suddenly two administrators review the same article within a couple of minutes of each other? There truly are no coincidences! :)
Now as for the article itself: When i tagged the FC Leopardos article, the user had first been trying to make his own article, before copy and pasting an article about an entirely different football club. I decided to add the test template as (i believe, it is some time since i tagged it) that user overwrote a couple of CSD templates already. A prod template removal might not be picked up by a fellow patrol as the article looked fine - it just wasn't describing the subject. I know that G2 didn't apply entirely, but at time it seemed the best option to keep the article in view. I hope this explains, and with kind regards, Excirial 22:56, 20 March 2010 (UTC)

Nauryz

Malik, thanks for the redirect from Nauryz to Nowruz. That was a good way to resolve it. The Scythian 00:13, 21 March 2010 (UTC)

Alpine Provençal

Hello. After seeing that user's note at Talk:Alpine Provençal, and reviewing the article that he references, Vivaro-Alpine, it does appear that a redirect is in order. Since you took the latest admin action on that article, I thought I'd bring it to your attention before I changed both Alpine Provençal and Alpine Provencal to redirects. I'll await a response from you before taking action. Thank you. 152.16.16.75 (talk) 00:21, 21 March 2010 (UTC)

Done. Thank you, and happy editing! 152.16.16.75 (talk) 00:38, 21 March 2010 (UTC)
I made the request for deletion and got your message, thanks. Correjon (talk) 08:06, 21 March 2010 (UTC)

Category:Palestinian terrorism

What makes you say that the category is only for groups and events? I don't see any indication of that on the category page. There are other individuals listed there, as well as on Category:Jewish terrorism and Category:Zionist terrorism. Breein1007 (talk) 05:50, 21 March 2010 (UTC)

DYK for Rubén Jaramillo

Updated DYK query On March 21, 2010, Did you know? was updated with a fact from the article Rubén Jaramillo, which you created or substantially expanded. You are welcome to check how many hits your article got while on the front page (here's how, quick check ) and add it to DYKSTATS if it got over 5,000. If you know of another interesting fact from a recently created article, then please suggest it on the Did you know? talk page.

GA reassessment of African American culture

I have conducted a reassessment of the above article following its listing at Misplaced Pages:Good articles/Cleanup listing#Articles with 4 cleanup categories assigned. You are being notified as you have made a number of contributions to the article. I have found some concerns which you can see at Talk:African American culture/GA1. I have placed the article on hold whilst these are fixed. Thanks. –– Jezhotwells (talk) 13:07, 21 March 2010 (UTC)

Imad Abbas

Thank you. I was actually going to give up there... your edit is really appreciated. Breein1007 (talk) 20:22, 21 March 2010 (UTC)

Sara

Thanks, I'll reconsider tomorrow. In regards to closing it, if I do withdraw my vote, I'll ask the only other delete vote if they want to take over my nomination as there isn't a unanimious support for it to be kept. Kevin Rutherford (talk) 03:14, 22 March 2010 (UTC)

Please Restore Semi-protection to Michael Lerner (rabbi) immediately. The vandal is back

When was the protection removed?--WickerGuy (talk) 14:33, 22 March 2010 (UTC)

Apparently, the sockpuppet with a new account simply removed the template pp-vandalism|small=yes Why is a new user able to do this? Such a semi-protection is simply useless if a new user can just take it off. --WickerGuy (talk) 14:52, 22 March 2010 (UTC)

Al 'Al

I think that one should be disambiguated. I dont think either the Jordanian or the Syrian village should be the target of Al ‘Al as it is not clear that either one of the is more prevalent in sources; if it were up to me Al ‘Al would just be a disambig page with links to both. nableezy - 00:16, 23 March 2010 (UTC)

Yeah I know, I was going to undue some myself, but felt that one was fine. I'll bring it up on the talk page. Take care, nableezy - 03:09, 23 March 2010 (UTC)

Al Al

Hey, is there some way you can make so when someone searches for "Al Al" they can choose either the Jordanian or Syrian place? --Supreme Deliciousness (talk) 00:20, 23 March 2010 (UTC)

I just saw that nableezy mentioned this above also. --Supreme Deliciousness (talk) 00:23, 23 March 2010 (UTC)

re: article about hip-hop artist Greenie

Hi-- I'm trying to re-establish this article--about GREENIE--and improve it/ It was deleted for not stating the significance.. Here are some items:

  • KRS-ONE's first full CD executive producer credit in his career.
  • KRS-ONE's first time coaching, producing, rhyming with, performing with, and promoting a White/Jewish emcee.
  • It is the first true collaboration of OLD SCHOOL artists w/ a new school artist in decades
  • Greenie is the only rapper to discuss such controversial topics as the secret inner workings and racism in the Jewish family--w/ such titles as "My Son, The Schvartze"
  • Greenie's background as a stuttering, beaten down, bullied Queens kid who grew up to be a retired multi-millionaire entrepreneur --delivering inspiration, writings, speeches, etc; around the world--is reflected in his uniquely positive, but still genre-appropriate rap music/lyrics.
Hello. While seeing if I could save article at the CSD portal, I ran onto the article created by the user above about an artist that goes by the name Greenie. I mean no offense to the IP user above but the article was somewhat poorly written and read like an advertisement. I went in search of references to backup the information stated in the article before attempting to rewrite it and was unable to find a single reference from a reliable source. The only references I found are either in a Youtube video or from a very poorly made website which I see as being completely unreliable (I'd link it but the link I had was deleted with the article). Since then, I've been attempting to clean up the mentions of the artist made by the IP user above across many different articles. Even though this user has been blocked for vandalism in the past, I don't believe that this artist is simply made up. I believe that the user is simply unaware of Misplaced Pages's policies and guidelines regarding notability. I'm not asking for a block but I'm not sure that I can keep up with reverting the info while attempting to educate the user without edit warring or making the user feel like I'm stalking them. Any help you can provide would be greatly appreciated. OlYeller 04:21, 24 March 2010 (UTC)

depth of the second dimension

Hello Malik,

my article has been deleted and i do not disagree and i understand the reasons for deletion, but i would like to receive a copy of it or could you please userify it? Also i need some guarantee that my article, will then not be republished or copied without my consult due to its original and academic nature. Can you provide me with such a guarantee? and if not, then please explain how can i regain full author's right to the theme that i published in the article.

Best regards,
