Living Memory LGBT History Timeline from Trans perspective
This discussion has been collapsed.
A possible resource. Transgender Aging Network has launched a project - Living Memory LGBT History Timeline to assist with aging LGBT folks "It is impossible to tell without asking someone precisely which public events shaped their lives, but knowing what was likely reported in newspapers and discussed at dinner parties during a person’s lifetime may help you understand how their worldview was shaped. To offer insight into the concerns, lifestyles, and belief sets of lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) people who are now 50 and older, the Transgender Aging Network has constructed the following timeline showing how old they would have been when there were critical events or changes in the lives of LGBT people." Starting with the 1920s the events list can be cross-referenced with current GLBT timelines and used as a possible stepping stone to aid Trans projects and awareness. Maybe you can do something with this. I looked at it and tried to figure out how to incorporate it but it was too confusing for me. Of note is that the line is manufactured by American Apparel. ALLSTARecho
Gold mine! I'm digging through a bio right now but we'll deal with that soonly. Benjiboi
The biggest breakthrough came when gay folks volunteered in droves to help organize and register people for the CNN/YouTube debate held last July at the Citadel in Charleston. "I bet 75% of the people who were manning (the registration) process were members of the community," says Warren Redman-Gress, the current executive director of AFFA.
'We live in a society where there are virtually no repercussions,' said Ms. Min of Us Weekly. The repeat offenders who most often populate our gossip, she said, know full well they can 'get arrested one day, walk a red carpet the next, and still have as many photographers shouting their names and wanting their pictures.'
Still, some celebrity journalists believe that while the explosion of instantaneous news media outlets has made these personalities more accountable for their transgressions, the offenses themselves haven’t necessarily grown more offensive over time.
this editorial in ScotsGay - "Nevertheless, Outrage has been far too kind to those gay clerics and MPs like Kilfedder who have used their power to oppress us." (ties in age of consent campaign)

Deep in Vogue, a song released by Malcolm McLaren one year before the documentary film by Jennie Livingston Paris Is Burning. Madonna's "Vogue" came one year later, bringing this subculture to the mainstream audience, but it was far from the real thing.
50 state project, standardize intro with refs, state map and LGBT rights template. See also section and footer templates. Then do talkpages with project tag and proposed section outline. -- Banjeboi
"LGBT category" mainspace banner of sorts so that those who actually look at any of the LGBT cat pages can follow a link to page that gives a simplified rationale and direction for adding people to cats. "Per _____ policy 'cats should be clearly supported by content' and per ____ policy 'content about sexual minorities must be reliably sourced'. Below are some guidelines to help determine which if any categories are appropriate and how they are organized."

ThePinkTriangle.org - wow, that's an article just waiting to happen! I'll see what I can cook up, there certainly seems to be plenty of sources. -- Banjeboi
we assume a person can only be one lesbian or gay at a time so let's consider a search and destroy on "a lesbian", "a gay" etc. except where a direct quote is employed or otherwise compelling reason exists.
Misplaced Pages® is the number 10 website in the world, and the only website in the Alexa Top 20 run by a nonprofit. Despite its low overheads, with only six paid staff, the Foundation has had tremendous difficulty in keeping up with the ever-increasing demand for server hardware, not to mention the bandwidth bill for serving an average 150 megabytes per second, doubling every six months. Slow page loading and frequent downtime remain perennial problems.
Lateisha Green was killed in 2008. The Syracuse, NY woman was 22 at the time. And she was transgender. DeLee's shot was intentional and placed in an effort to make a statement.
Last month, a jury found DeLee guilty of manslaughter in the first degree as a hate crime and criminal possession of a weapon. DeLee's conviction was the first hate crime conviction regarding a transgender person in New York and only the second in the country. -- Banjeboi

I'm trying to build a good sentence or so to overview the community's views on paid admining for the WP:Paid editing page. Several folks have mentioned multiple cases of paid admining/editing discussed at Arbcomm but I'm only seeing the Nichalm (sp?) one. So, are you aware of any cases addressing paid editing in general. Arbcom past discussions are sometimes redacted or simply masked so searching is rendered compromised. Any help appreciated.
Hm, just realized that I've posted this handy template here, but I am now automatically reticent to post it for comment on relevant article talk pages as I am assuming that there would be an immediate attempt to delete it rather than discuss improvement. Sad state of affairs. Ash (talk)

In this case it may make sense to start with each current subsection usage entry and see how each can be presented as if we were summarizing like the drag queen section. By picking the less used terms we might see which can be eliminated or bundled. There's a reasonable chance we'll also find many other terms which can be noted on the talkpage or added temporarily. I suggest each entry include basic definition, first known usage and anything else that seems notable. -- Banjeboi
Hi Benjiboi. As a party mentioned in the forthcoming RFC/U of Delicious carbuncle, if you choose, you may want to sign as one of the "Users certifying the concern". (This would move the RFc/U forward in a more speedy manner. Of course, you may also choose not to participate. It is entirely in your court, but since you were prominently mentioned, it is 100% perfectly within guidelines and appropriate that I should bring it to your attention. Regards! 38.109.88.180 (talk) 19:30, 26 March 2010 (UTC)
Well, somebody (we know whom) chased Ash away. I still think the RFC should be submitted, so if you're on board, let me know if you'll be certifying it or not, and I'll post it. Thanks.38.109.88.180 (talk) 16:03, 27 March 2010 (UTC)
