Statue photos

I'm guessing you won't want to drag yourself into yet another ANI discussion, but I wonder if you could comment to me on the true copyright status of File:Honuswagnerstatue.JPG and File:Athletes monument.jpg I think they should have the same non-free status, due to the failure of "freedom of panorama" restrictions. Elen made the rather astonishing statement at ANI that commons doesn't believe statues in public places are protected by copyright, and that's why the uploader could get away with posting the Wagner statue photo. What's that about? ←Baseball Bugs carrots01:22, 26 December 2011 (UTC)
