In May 2009, the SENSE Research School, a joint venture of environmental research groups of twelve Dutch universities and institutes, ranked Nova Science Publishers in the category of "Decent international publishers and excellent national publishers."

Criticism
Nova Publishers has been criticised by David Bade on account of their journals publishing many issues which contained no original materials at all, but reprinted articles, reports, and book chapters that are in the public domain.
