Hello,
I am Deepak D'Souza.
Perhaps, you may be aware , or maybe not , that there is a Konkani Misplaced Pages on test at Wikimedia Incubator. It has been around since August 2006 , but has been lacking contributors. Till now it has been a one man effort . I myself became aware of it in February.
We have started with a few articles and need a lot of help given the various dialects and scripts in use for Konakni.
We would be very glad if you contribute.
With regards Deepak D'Souza.
Mando (disambiguation)
A {{prod}} template has been added to the article Mando (disambiguation), suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Misplaced Pages's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice explains why (see also "What Misplaced Pages is not" and Misplaced Pages's deletion policy). You may contest the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}}
notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page. Also, please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. If you endorse deletion of the article, and you are the only person who has made substantial edits to the page, please tag it with {{db-author}}. Shehzadashiq 10:05, 10 August 2007 (UTC)

Requesting guidance on what makes Misplaced Pages relevant
Regarding the electromagnetic clutch article, the reason that we contributed initially was to correct some of the inaccurate information. The information we posted has been published and is backed up by other clutch manufacturers besides ourselves. It is surprising that an individual with no industry references and/or published articles can decide to change how the industry classifies electromagnetic clutches. If Misplaced Pages is to be used by industry, it has to contain relevant, factual information. Our basic question is, why is one person’s views more relevant than the multiple articles published on clutches and our own knowledge of our design and application engineers (about 100) in our 14 companies worldwide? Some in the engineering community we serve, said it was a waste of time to try to provide real information to Misplaced Pages because anyone can change facts for opinions, but we are not giving up. We are looking forward to your assistance in guiding us with this as we would like to keep providing practical industry reference material. OIC1998 (talk) 19:02, 23 June 2011 (UTC)
Hello OIC1998,
First of all, let me make it clear to you that I respect your knowledge about electromagnetic clutches and brakes, and I appreciate your contributions to Misplaced Pages on these topics. However, the form of Misplaced Pages articles is decided by consensus among editors according to certain guidelines. I will list out the issues with the article on the article's talk page Talk:Electromagnetic_clutch.

Disambiguation link notification
Hi. When you recently edited Friction-plate electromagnetic couplings, you added links pointing to the disambiguation pages Magnetic pole and Armature (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Indian Football Clubs
Hey mate, just want to say that I know this is not for "successful" clubs (if you can call them all that). It was meant for clubs that still exist today. Most of these clubs dont exist today and are officially defunct. For example Viva Kerala is not a club anymore. In fact that is now Chirag United Club Kerala. Also clubs like DFC Delhi Football Club is really Delhi United FC. Just a different article. Also clubs like Amity United FC are not in existence today. And lastly clubs like Rajasthan United Football Club are not even notable and should be deleted from wikipedia as they have not competed in either the I-League, I-League 2nd Division, Durand Cup and Federation Cup (India). I have undid your edit BUT will be going back and adding some more clubs. Also some of the leagues you mentioned are defunct to. Cheers. --Arsenalkid700 (talk) 21:31, 29 March 2012 (UTC)
- Hi Alsenalkid700, I do agree with you, and I apologise for my lack of knowledge about Indian clubs and also for my laziness in not checking the details properly before adding them to the list. Let us discuss what clubs should qualify for being listed in the article on its talk page as I feel that the current list does a disservice to clubs that have been playing at the national level in the past but are now functional but not at their prime like ONGC F.C., FC Punjab Police, State Bank of Travancore (football club) and Tollygunge Agragami.
- By the way, I sincerely appreciate all the work you are doing for Indian football on Misplaced Pages. The Discoverer (talk) 21:55, 29 March 2012 (UTC)
- Sure, I would not mind if we went to the article talk page. Also dont apologize. Part of my project with Indian football is deleting all the non-notable articles and you practically just named them now and made my job easier. Thanks for that. :) Also I do agree that those clubs should have been there. Clubs like ONGC FC are 100% notable (in fact they are currently playing in the ongoing I-League 2nd Division) and also Tollygunge. State Bank of Travancore I will have to look at to see if they still play. I know there was an amateur club that was affiliated with the Bank in the 2011 Durand Cup but I dont know if the actual bank team is alive today. Maybe these kind of teams would be perfect for a section at the bottom of the page titled Defunct Clubs. I am guessing that I cant make a separate article for that so why not include it at the bottom. Anyway we will continue this on the article talk page. Also thank you for your comment about my work on Indian Football. That will surely push me to finish my goals faster and better. Cheers. --Arsenalkid700 (talk) 22:10, 29 March 2012 (UTC)
- I don't think we should add defunct clubs to this page.. I'd prefer to keep it as an article for functional clubs and mention this in the article lead. As for defunct clubs articles, the quick fix would be to change 'is' to 'was', 'are' to 'were', and to add Category:Defunct Indian football clubs.The Discoverer (talk) 22:31, 29 March 2012 (UTC)
Copying material already in Misplaced Pages
Hi The Discoverer!
As you can see here, copying material already inside Misplaced Pages is not without its problems.
Due to Wikipdia's copyright requirements content must be attributed to its sources, even if they are internal. The attribution can be simply in the edit summary in some cases, but for further information, please do read Misplaced Pages:Copying within Misplaced Pages.
Thanks! Looking forward to working with you again. --Shirt58 (talk) 06:03, 5 May 2012 (UTC)
- On the articles you have already created, can you go back and add the filled-out
{{copied}}
on the talk pages and at the same time add them to the source article too? This would make it easier for us, as some of the stuff that already existed prior to your edits are copyvios and need cleaning up. If you have any trouble figuring out what fields to fill in on the template, let me know and I can do it for one article. cheers. —SpacemanSpiff 03:49, 6 May 2012 (UTC)
- I have put the copied template on all the pages I created that contain text from Sport in India and also on the Sport in India talk page The Discoverer (talk) 11:32, 6 May 2012 (UTC)
Copyright note
Hi. Thank you for taking steps to address issues with unattributed copying of content from one article to another. With respect to your restoration of content from www.sankalpindia.net to India at the FIFA World Cup, I've had to remove it again. We would need strong reason to believe that the content originated here to use it. I have explained the problem with this presumption at Talk:India at the FIFA World Cup. Please do not restore this content without discussing the matter with someone experienced with copyright work first. We can't afford to take chances with copyright, as this is a legal issue. --Moonriddengirl 01:05, 7 May 2012 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of Mary Help of Christians Cathedral
Hello The Discoverer,
I wanted to let you know that I just tagged Mary Help of Christians Cathedral for deletion, because it seems to be copied from another source.
If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted and want more time to rewrite it in your own words, you can contest this deletion, but please don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top.
You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions. Thanks, Kudpung กุดผึ้ง (talk) 12:39, 25 October 2012 (UTC)
- Please note that copyright violations cannot be userfied: they're deleted because of the legal position it puts Misplaced Pages into, and re-enabling them is not a wise idea. In fact, admins are also required to delete userspace subpages that contain copyright violations (✉→BWilkins←✎) 18:22, 31 October 2012 (UTC)
- There are some parts of that article that are not copyright infringement. If I'm not asking for too much, could you restore the article with just the copyright infringement parts removed for now? I mean could you restore the article with the infobox, images, categories, references, the opening sentence and maybe a couple of other sentences that aren't in the main source? Thanks, The Discoverer (talk) 18:27, 31 October 2012 (UTC)
- I am not sure that the amount of time and effort it would take me to do that would be less than the amount of time and effort it would take you to write it from scratch, especially considering that I would have to check that the parts I kept did not infringe copyright. In addition, the editing history would attribute it to me, whereas it would in fact have been written by you. All in all, I really think it would be more straightforward for you to start again. JamesBWatson (talk) 11:55, 1 November 2012 (UTC)
- I'll write the article from scratch, but could you undelete the page and remove all the text from the body of the article? I would like to reuse atleast the infobox and outline. That way the attribution would also be correct. The Discoverer (talk) 12:23, 1 November 2012 (UTC)
- OK, I've put it at User:JamesBWatson/Mary Help of Christians Cathedral. Please copy and paste the content, rather than moving the page, so that you are listed as the creator of the article. I didn't create it, but only copied it, and it would be misleading for me to appear first in the editing history. JamesBWatson (talk) 12:42, 1 November 2012 (UTC)
- Hello, Thanks for you help, and sorry for the trouble. I have recreated the page and I have written it entirely from memory this time around (except for the quotations), so I hope that there will be no problems. If you still have any concerns or suggestions, please let me know and I will try to address them. The Discoverer (talk) 13:21, 1 November 2012 (UTC)

Proposed deletion of Delhi Senior Division
The article Delhi Senior Division has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
- No evidence of notability
While all contributions to Misplaced Pages are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. GiantSnowman 18:39, 25 January 2013 (UTC)

Template:Football in India
Hello, I had changed the link of West Bengal in the state leagues section from Bengal Premier League Soccer to Calcutta Premier Division and the edit was reverted by you. But the Bengal Premier League Soccer is a non-existent tournament which was supposed to be privately organised and not even supported by the AIFF though the IFA did support it. Since the Calcutta Premier Division is the most important football league of the state, so I think the West Bengal link should be directed to it. I do agree that the Calcutta League is already listed as a part of the district leagues and in that case the link to Bengal Premier League can simply be removed as it does not truly represent a state league. Please let me know what you think of this. Thank you, --Milesandkilometrestogo (talk) 08:26, 6 April 2013 (UTC)
