Valeria Lukyanova (born 1991) is a Ukrainian educator. She is best known for her resemblance to the Mattel-manufactured Barbie doll. Reliable sources have described her as a "real-life Barbie doll" and "human Barbie".

Career

Valeria Lukyanova was born 1991 in Tiraspol, Ukraine. As a child Lukyanova was already intrigued by spirituality. She is an educator at the School of Out-of-Body Travel, described by herself as "an international school in which our instructors show students how to leave their physical body and travel in their spiritual body." She rose to prominence after reports of her "almost inhuman beauty" surfaced online. She was the subject of the 2013 documentary film, Space Barbie, which depicted her life.

Media outlets have raised skepticism over Lukyanova's case. ABC News suggested that Lukyanova was no more than a hoax aided by the effects of the likes of Photoshop. Additionally, American Society of Plastic Surgeon president Malcolm Roth criticised her excessive reliance of plastic surgery by outlining the dire health threats it causes. A Boston-based educator regarded Lukyanova as an example of the nergative effects of media objectification.

Personal life

Lukyanova resides in Odessa, Ukraine. She is an avid mountain-climber. Reliable sources have reported her "spiritual name" as Amatue.
