Hello, and welcome to Misplaced Pages. You appear to be engaged in an edit war with one or more editors. Although repeatedly reverting or undoing another editor's contributions may seem necessary to protect your preferred version of a page, on Misplaced Pages this is usually seen as obstructing the normal editing process, and often creates animosity between editors. Instead of edit warring, please discuss the situation with the editor(s) involved and try to reach a consensus on the talk page.
If editors continue to revert to their preferred version they are likely to be blocked from editing. This isn't done to punish an editor, but to prevent the disruption caused by edit warring. In particular, editors should be aware of the three-revert rule, which says that an editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. While edit warring on Misplaced Pages is not acceptable in any amount, breaking the three-revert rule is very likely to lead to a block. Thank you. Alex2006 (talk) 05:39, 26 July 2014 (UTC)
Welcome and BRD
Hallo Piledhighandeep,
and welcome on wikipedia! I know that hurts being reverted on edits that you find correct, but one should not take it personally. This is part of the WP:BRD policy, which I advise you to read. your edits did not get lost anyway, and can be recovered at any time. But you should first try to build Consensus on the discussion page about them! Ciao, Alex2006 (talk) 06:17, 26 July 2014 (UTC)
- I think Piledhighandeep should first review their intentions and decide if they really wish to develop the said article or is interested in it to prove a certain origin. Making a PhD is marvelous (I wish I could complete mine some day) but equally important is academic attitude (objectivity). Regards. --Why should I have a User Name? (talk) 06:28, 26 July 2014 (UTC)
- If you look at the German language article, as I suggested, or if you follow the references I cited, you will see that the English language article was lacking in objectivity, besides being clumsily written with bullet points and incomplete sentences. I carefully deleted nothing from the original article, leaving it for the reader to reach their own conclusions. There are interesting arguments for many different origins of this food. An objective article will need to clearly present all widely supported academic arguments with references. Piledhighandeep (talk) 06:44, 26 July 2014 (UTC)
- German is too difficult for me to understand, but I have confidence in the experienced user Alessandro57. On the other hand, although you kindly stick to academic objectivity and evade my question, I also have full confidence in your good-will. Welcome again and enjoy WP. --Why should I have a User Name? Single purpose account
May I possibly ask you why you opened an account here? Only to write about baklava? Ah, sorry you made edits on Byzantian Empire also. Are you here to prove that baklava was invented at the Great Palace of Constantine? I suppose you are making a PhD on Byzantine cuisine, right? Regards. --Why should I have a User Name? - Hi, I have edited the Lion of Belfort article several times as well. I have been a member for less than 24 hours. How many articles did you edit in your first 4 hours? Piledhighandeep (talk) 18:27, 26 July 2014 (UTC)
- I don't remember. --Why should I have a User Name? (talk) 18:42, 26 July 2014 (UTC)
