Red crossThis is a failed proposal.
Consensus for its implementation was not established within a reasonable period of time. If you want to revive discussion, please use the talk page or initiate a thread at the village pump.
This page is currently inactive and is retained for historical reference.
Either the page is no longer relevant or consensus on its purpose has become unclear. To revive discussion, seek broader input via a forum such as the village pump.
ShortcutThis page is intended to get attention quickly when dealing with personal attacks. It is not intended to serve as a form of mediation or a type of RFC. Only Personal attacks are dealt with on this page, on their own merits in accordance with Misplaced Pages's No Personal Attacks policy

For editors who want a personal attack situation reviewed:

    1. Consider that in most cases, ignoring the attack is better than requesting sanction against the attacker. Do not report people if you are likewise guilty of hostility towards them.
    2. Make sure the user has actually commited a personal attack. (Please note that "personal attacks" are defined only under the WP:NPA policy. If a statement is not considered a personal attack under the intended spirit of this policy, it does not belong here.)
    3. The editor must have been warned earlier. The {{npa2}}, and {{npa3}} templates may be appropriate for new users; for long-term editors, it's preferable to write something rather than using a standard template. Reports of unwarned editors may be removed.
    4. If the behavior hasn't stopped, add the following header to the New Reports section of this page in the following format:
==={{User|NAME OF USER}}=== replacing NAME OF USER with the user name or IP address concerned, with a brief reason for listing below. Be sure to include diffs.
    5. If an editor removes the IP or username and doesn't handle the matter to your satisfaction, take it to the editor's talk page or the administrators' noticeboard, but do not re-list the user here.
    6. NB - Due to misunderstanding of these instructions and/or mis-use of this process, comments not in strict adhereance to these instructions WILL be removed. This page deals only with personal attacks under the policy WP:NPA. Reports deemed to be inappropriate for this page are liable to be moved to an appropriate venue where one exists.

For those reported on this page:

    1. A reviewer or an administrator will review each report on this page. In dealing with the report, the contribution history of the reported user shall be checked along with the diffs provided in the report. Where no personal attack is evident, then no action will be taken - however, should an administrator see that another seperate issue is evident, appropriate action or advice for that issue may be taken/given at his or her discretion and in line with wiki policy.
    2. Reports on this page stand on their own merits in accordance with Misplaced Pages's no personal attacks policy. As such, disputes and discussions over reports are not suitable for this page except for such comments left by admins or reviewers describing their actions and/or findings. If you notice your account reported at this page, please trust that the administrators and reviewers dealing with reports will deal with it in an even-handed and fair manner on the basis of policy alone. If you feel strongly that another "side to the story", issue, or another piece of information is missing from a report please refrain from posting here, and instead leave your comment on your talk page under the title NPA Report or another other clear and related title. The reviewing party will see this message and take it into account where applicable.

    For users handling assistance requests:

    1. For each of the users linked here, open their contributions and check for personal attacks. Also check if the users have been sufficiently warned for the current personal attack and whether they've continued to commit personal attacks after being warned.
    2. Note that there is an important difference between a user who makes many good contributions and a few personal attacks, and a user whose last edits are (nearly) all personal attacks or other conflict.
    3. Do nothing, warn them again, or, if you are an adminstrator, block the user in question as you think is required. Explain things carefully to the user who listed the attacker if you feel there's been a misunderstanding.
    4. Move the report to the Open Reports section and give an update to the status of the report.
    5. Delete old reports that have been dealt with.

Please consider adding this page to your watchlist to make life easier for non-administrator RC-patrollers.

Hkelkar (talk · contribs) and TwoHorned (talk · contribs)

This user has made blatant attacks against me on Talk:Koenraad_Elst and and :

    • He has been accusing me of antisemitism because I just used the word "neocon". I asked him to back his claims, he never did.
    • He is accusing me of being defnbanned User:Robert Lindsay under another name.
    • The user is adopting a persecuting approach by systematically menacing.

Here are the quotations of that person, found in the above mentionned links:

    • If you continue to violate WP:BLP in this manner and make the "neocon" anti-semitic canard (you actually mean "Jew", right?) against Pipes then it is grounds for reporting in BLP noticebaard
    • You made the statement "neocon" in the header of the article talk page Talk:Koenraad Elst#Controversies about Elst's links with the neocons and the extreme right, as well as several times in the conversation. The term "neocon" is a pejorative for neoconservatives generally regarded as an insult and with connotations of an ethnic slur as, historically, anti-semites have used it to make accusations of neoconservatism being "dominated by Jews", "controlled by Jews" or "espousing dual loyalty to Israel" etc.
    • Plus, I will file an RFCU against you as I suspect that you are a sock of indefbanned User:Robert Lindsay

This user is making grave accusations at me without any backing of his claims. He did not accepted my good-faith explanation of the use of the word "neocon" as an abbreviation for "neoconservative" without any antisemitic connotation. He did not reply to my comment that the word "neocon" is currently used in many Misplaced Pages articles. In the case cited here, it is quite easy to see how false his accusations are, just by reading the pages above. TwoHorned 16:31, 15 October 2006 (UTC)

Response from Hkelkar:This user User:TwoHorned got blocked for edit-warring on Koenraad Elst and not seems mad about it. He never cited any diffs or anything.Plus, he has referred to me as "Bozo" in his edit summaries and and despite my NPA templating him . He responded with some harangue about how he's not an anti-semite whereas he clearly meant it as an antisemitic canard while describing Daniel Pipes on Talk:Koenraad Elst. He has committed WP:BLP violations on both personalities and has been admonished to that effect not just by me but also by users User:Bharatveer and User:Bondego in the same article see .He persists making npa attacks here but I did not complain against him as I am tired of him and only wish to ignore him from now on. However, his little tantrum here drew my attention and left me with no choice but to respond.I urge admins to investigate the full matter (see our conversation on TwoHorned's talk page User talk:TwoHorned where I have been very civilized and polite and he has progressively degenerated into rants and raves) before executing summary judgement. Thanks and have a nice day.Hkelkar 17:03, 15 October 2006 (UTC)
This user TwoHorned has himself called others "bonzos". His editing pattern show that he has an agenda that could violate WP:BLP, in that he is for example adding poorly sourced attacks on people like Koenraad Elst.
The user TwoHorned claims that his use of the word "neocon" as an abbreviation for "neoconservative" has no antisemitic connotation at all, but here, here, here and here this user makes direct connections between neocons, the extreme right, Jewish or pro-Israel groups and the the Israeli right.--Bondego 17:21, 15 October 2006 (UTC)

    Street Scholar (talk · contribs)

The user has made disparaging attacks against me on Talk:Muhammad bin Qasim here. he has refused to cooperate with my dispute resolution process with User:CheNuevara as the mediator (who has worked very hard to engage in good faith DR process initiated by me concerning his edits) and consistently makes incivil comments. He has a history of making racist and sexist remarks here and here for which he has been censured by admins here. I would NPA-warn him but I fear that he will only escalate in his disruption if I do, based on his tendentious edits here ,here and here and many other places which show consitent assumption of bad faith and veiled ethnic slurs against users that are getting disruptive. I abjectly request admin intervention.Thanks.Hkelkar 12:18, 14 October 2006 (UTC)

Update:Actually I just remembered that I HAD warned him informally for violating WP:NPA as well as WP:OWN in this edit. The warning is here so I have warned him.Hkelkar 12:32, 14 October 2006 (UTC)

Above user has been blocked on at least four separate occasions for personal attacks and general trolling. User has difficulty with assuming good faith, using reliable sources, and WP:NOT even when users go out of their way to inform him that the problem with his edit is not the content but the sources he chooses to use. But more important than that, user continues to write long diatribes against editors such as this and this implying that myself and Gamaliel are government agents trying to supress his voice. User has been warned through his previous block and I also warned him informally. Ramsquire 23:49, 13 October 2006 (UTC)

A simple matter of questioning an unreliable source is greeted with a full blown attack. This user - who has been repeatedly blocked for various offenses - does not play well with other editors and a community ban should be considered. Gamaliel 00:51, 14 October 2006 (UTC)

    Ernham (talk · contribs)

This user has received both {{npa2}} and {{npa2}} warnings, as well as numerous informal warnings. Personal attacks have continued such as calling me a "stalker" and calling honest edits "massive vandalism/total lies/complete NPOV non-sense" and honest editors vandals . Editor also has the habit of calling people stupid or not understanding his own "logic" for example and "stop correcting your damn spelling mistakes so i can respond, too. Yes, I know you can't spell very well."

User has replaced personal attacks, even after they've been removed and he's been warned .

Using this noticeboard is not a move I take lightly, this is the first time I have had the occasion to since I joined the project in 2004. Mark83 10:30, 13 October 2006 (UTC)

    Nagarajachar (talk · contribs)

Hi Nagarajachar has been constantly provking me, inspite of warnings, now he is accusing me of putting nonsense material on Misplaced Pages, u can see my contributions in my homepage and i am open for discussions , can u warn him please--Ganesha1 10:29, 14 October 2006 (UTC)

    • Please supply at least one or two diffs of these personal attacks - especially in light of the fact that it appears that Shell recently advised you on the inappropriateness of replying with attacks of your own. You ned to show us exactly what it is that's been said that you feel constitutes a personal attack. --Crimsone 11:08, 14 October 2006 (UTC)

    JJay (talk · contribs)

JJay (talk · contribs · deleted contribs · nuke contribs · logs · filter log · block user · block log) does not contribute to actual articles, but merely votes in afds. Recently, he has almost exclusively limited his activites to stalking my afds. This includes the current Misplaced Pages:Articles for deletion/New Geneva Theological Seminary. There is only two articles he has been concerned with in the last 7 days: One is a sex toy afd and the other is my afd.

This user has been doing this to my edits since April and most recently confronted him on his talk and he gave this reply: "If you nominate articles for deletion you should expect to encounter differing points of view." Independently another admin addressed his behavior, but that admin had to step away from wikipedia.

Examples of the disruptive behavior in my afds in the past few weeks:

Clearly this user is stalking me.

Trying to address these issues with this user is not possible as he removes comments from his talk page and does so repeatedly. Arbusto 04:13, 15 October 2006 (UTC)

    • Have you tried warning him that his actions may result in a block, and that he can see every AfD that's currently going on at WP:AFD? That may help. It's possible he's wikistalking you because he likes to participate in AfDs, and doesn't know of the list.--KojiDude 04:16, 15 October 2006 (UTC)
Yes, in Sept and Oct on his talk not to mention in various other places. I first mention his ill-treatment of my comments in March on his talk. This user does not contribute to the editting or improving wikipedia at all. Arbusto 04:21, 15 October 2006 (UTC)
You do engaged in childish actitivies, and should be blocked. Your "evidence" is bogus the full quote of Brenneman was "JJay can also be a valuable contributor. He drives me mental and we agree on almost nothing, this is true. But he's passionate and prolix. The desired outcome is that everyone can contibute without friction. That may be difficult." Hence "can be" is much different than "an incredibly valuable contributor." Arbusto 17:30, 15 October 2006 (UTC)
    • Well, after reading that, I think if anyone should be temporarily blocked it's Arbustoo. I'm not an administrator, though, so this issue needs to wait until one comes along and makes a decision.--KojiDude 16:42, 15 October 2006 (UTC)
Perhaps you should look at the context. Arbusto 17:30, 15 October 2006 (UTC)
There you have it JJay denies WPSTALK: "I have made no attacks on this user nor am I 'stalking' him". Funny look through history and look through mine. He is gaming wikipedia and should be blocked. Arbusto 17:30, 15 October 2006 (UTC)

His edit history almost exactly corresponds to my afds:
