A preliminary list of participating countries as of May 21, 2010, was published. According to an unofficial count, 257 athletes from 21 countries participated.
Athletes from Dominica , Guatemala and Haiti appear on the result lists, but were scratched or did not show, while athletes from Cuba , El Salvador , and the United States Virgin Islands were initially announced, but do not appear on the result lists.
