Bao Tranchi is a Vietnamese American costume and fashion designer. She is best known for her work on The Greatest Beer Run Ever and Once Upon a Time in Vietnam.

Life and career

Tranchi was born in Saigon, South Vietnam before emigrating to the United States. She graduated from Otis College of Art and Design in 1999. She becomes the youngest person to be admitted into the Costume Designers Guild and worked on Charlie’s Angels and Hedwig and the Angry Inch. She made her debut as a costume designer with the feature film Journey from the Fall, directed by Ham Tran in 2006. She launched her own fashion label, "Bao Tranchi" in 2015. Her work has been included in several publications, including Vogue, Harper's Bazaar, Elle and Women's Wear Daily.

Tranchi was the second runner-up in the second season of Netflix's Next in Fashion. Her designs have been worn by Jennifer Lopez, Ashley Graham, Nicki Minaj, Gigi Hadid, Laverne Cox and more.
