Muhammad Daud Ghaznavi (1895 - 16 December 1963), better known as Dawood Ghaznavi or Daud Ghaznavi, was an Islamic scholar, politician in British India and a leader of the independence movement who served as president of the Punjab Provincial Congress Committee. He was one of the founders of Majlis-e Ahrar-e Islam and founding member of Jamiat Ulema-e-Hind. In 1946, he became member of Punjab Provincial Assembly.
Early Life
Ghaznavi was born in 1895 in Amritsar. He received Islamic education from his father Syed Abdul Jabbar Ghaznavi and his cousin Syed Abdul Awal Ghaznavi. He moved Delhi for higher education. In Delhi, he completed his hadith study under Abdullah Ghazipuri, who was the student of Syed Nazeer Husain.
Death
Dawood Ghaznavi died on 16 December 1963. He was buried in the Miani Sahib Graveyard in Lahore.
