Microsoft Coffee is a hoaxApril Fool's Day prank created on April 1st 2021, claimed to be conducted on April 1, 1996 by Microsoft employees, in which boxes of a fake Java-compatible development kit known as Microsoft Coffee were placed in retail stores such as the Egghead Software in Seattle and Office Depot. There is a recording of a news station covering the prank, but its authenticity is unclear. No evidence of this "prank" exists prior to 2021.
