Origins
The surname, written in Spanish orthography as Pérez, is a patronymic surname meaning "son of Pedro" ("Pero" in archaic spanish). Its translation to english is Peter. At the same time, the name Pedro derives from the Latin name Petrus, meaning "rock or stone".
