South Red River Township is a township in Kittson County, Minnesota, United States. The population was 23 at the 2000 census.

Geography

According to the United States Census Bureau, the township has a total area of 17.8 square miles (46.1 km), of which 17.6 square miles (45.5 km) is land and 0.2 square mile (0.6 km) (1.35%) is water.

Demographics

As of the census of 2000, there were 23 people, 8 households, and 7 families residing in the township. The population density was 1.3 people per square mile (0.5/km). There were 11 housing units at an average density of 0.6/sq mi (0.2/km). The racial makeup of the township was 100.00% White.

There were 8 households, out of which 37.5% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 87.5% were married couples living together, and 12.5% were non-families. 12.5% of all households were made up of individuals, and none had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.88 and the average family size was 3.14.

In the township the population was spread out, with 34.8% under the age of 18, 30.4% from 25 to 44, 26.1% from 45 to 64, and 8.7% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 30 years.
